Despite billions allocated in the 2025\/2026 budget for drought-resilient boreholes and schools, a recent audit has revealed a disturbing pattern: projects that exist only on paper but have been paid for in full. We\u2019re tracking the flow of funds from the National Treasury to local subcontractors to see exactly where the disconnect lies.<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div id=\"wd-69ef4c418104a\" class=\"wd-text-block wd-wpb reset-last-child wd-rs-69ef4c418104a text-left wd-fontsize-m \">\n\t\t\t<h3 data-path-to-node=\"7\">Dissecting the Procurement Web<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8\">Our investigation found that the &#8220;leakage&#8221; often occurs at the tender-awarding stage. We aren&#8217;t just looking at missing money; we&#8217;re looking at a systemic failure of oversight where the &#8220;Hustler Fund&#8221; and regional development grants are being treated as private ATMs.<\/p>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"9\">Accountability is the Only Oasis<\/h3>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10\">The people of Turkana and Marsabit cannot drink &#8220;projected&#8221; water. As the EACC begins its 2026 sweep of county executives, we will continue to provide the raw data that connects the dots.
