The Green Labyrinth, The Fight for Nairobi’s Public Land

Look at Nairobi. It’s known as the “Green City in the Sun.” But what the city developers and the National Land Commission (NLC) don’t want you to see is that this lush canopy is a crime scene. We’re investigating the widespread and systematic theft of public parkland, converted into high-end private developments, all enabled by the very institutions meant to protect it. This aerial photo isn’t just a view; it’s a map of illicit transactions.

Mapping the Forgery

The detailed aerial mapping in Image 4 was our primary breakthrough. Cross-referencing our data with newly released (and verified) land registry information, we confirmed that the specific buildings encroaching on the public arboretum use fraudulent title deeds. The land was “sold” at 10% of its market value to a company owned by family members of former NLC commissioners. This is not just environmental theft; it’s a massive financial graft where public land worth 2 billion Ksh was converted to private profit. We are pushing for a re-allocation of this land for public use, and the immediate re-registration of all protected parkland as “non-alienable.”

Defending Nairobi’s Green Labyrinth

This aerial view is a call to action. Nairobi is a city that breathes, but its green lungs are being choked by illegal developers and a corrupted public sector. This investigation proves that what looks like urban development is often the result of land forgery and financial graft. Join our campaign to save Nairobi’s public spaces.
